What model/year of car do you have right now? a 1992 Toyota Camry station wagon, bought used
How did you celebrate the new millenium? I had the flu, but I stayed up to watch as much of the celebration on TV as I could.
Who is your favorite celebrity? Johnny Depp
What is your favorite web site? CBC News
What is your first memory? Standing with my grandmother and her maid in her kitchen waving goodbye to my parents, who were going on vacation.
What is your favorite memory of Kate and/or Suman? None, but I wish them well!
What advice do you have for the parents-to-be? Sleep now, while you can.Remember that each day and night can feel long now, but it's short in the long run.If the baby has colic, try cutting out dairy from your diet.Breastfeed for as long as you can.Sleep with your baby.
Who is an important political or business leader today? George W. Bush, but that's not necessarily a good thing.
How has technology changed your life? It has integrated into my life more than it has changed it.
What are some problems society has right now? Consumerism and overdependence of the economy on constant growth.
What achievements has society made lately? Hmmm -- not many!
What do you predict the next few years will hold? Economic and political uncertainly, shifting alliances, and new jargon.
What are your hopes for the future? Personal and family security. More common sense and greater real tolerance of diversity.

What advice do you have for the parents-to-be? relax and remember everyone makes mistakes and all you can do is to "do your best" and he will always understand

What is your favorite memory of Kate and/or Suman? Probably Suman's birthday party. Kate threw him a surprise party and everyone had a great time.
What advice do you have for the parents-to-be? Love him unconditionally and support him in all his endeavors.
Who is an important political or business leader today? Jesse Jackson
How has technology changed your life? One major way is keeping in touch with people. I'm not big on picking up the phone, but I can just send people an email, and that helps me stay in touch with everyone.
What are some problems society has right now? Teen pregnancy, drugs, road rage
What achievements has society made lately? Oh, that's a tough one...
What do you predict the next few years will hold? Pretty much the same as the last few years.
What are your hopes for the future? Peace

How did you celebrate the new millenium? Which one? In 2000 I went with close friends to the beach and watched fireworks. In 2001 I went with one close friend and shot off fireworks myself.

What is your first memory? A white stuffed-toy chicken and the back of a coursely upholstered seat. My personal legend tells me it was the plane trip from my birthplace in Washington to the Midwest. I was 9 months old.
What is your favorite memory of Kate and/or Suman? Together? The first time I met Suman. Kit kept alluding to this genderless Su-person. I thought she'd hopped the fence. Then we met him and had a riotously fun evening.
What advice do you have for the parents-to-be? Remember to love each other as much as you'll love the baby.
Who is an important political or business leader today? Hillary Clinton
How has technology changed your life? It's made me, recklessly perhaps, donate most of my reference books to Goodwill.
What are some problems society has right now? Foremost, an energy shortage. Plus we became accustomed to a good economy in the last decade and this may be changing also.
What achievements has society made lately? Well it hasn't been world peace or winning the war on drugs or the war on poverty. Maybe a greater "normalization" of the image of gays in American culture.
What do you predict the next few years will hold? American society will adopt European values regarding energy usage.
What are your hopes for the future? For society, more economic equity. For myself, a healthy and wealthy and wise retirement.

What advice do you have for the parents-to-be? Keep that love alive so the baby and the rest of the world can see it.
Who is an important political or business leader today? Senator Ted Kennedy,who in spite of wealth and high social status, keeps true justice at the forefront in his legislative promotions.
How has technology changed your life? The computer brings the world to me when I can no longer get out there to do anything about its problems or challenges.
What are some problems society has right now? As usual, the rich get richer and the poor get poorer. When will the powerful realize that the "little guy" is who they really work for?
What achievements has society made lately? We are now truly ONE WORLD! Will we learn to make use of that fact to our mutual advantage or return to "the same ole same ole?"
What do you predict the next few years will hold? The gradual maturing of the newly rich to meet the challenge of that ONE (digital)WORLD.
What are your hopes for the future? That enough of those in the seats of power will realize they need the rest of usl to survive.

What is your favorite memory of Kate and/or Suman? Thanksgiving '00. Suman was like having another teenager in the house (except he could cook!). I remember many moments of Kitty's insight into what make's me tick.
What advice do you have for the parents-to-be? Don't say "no" often. When you do, mean it.
Who is an important political or business leader today? The big "O". Oprah. A tychoon with class and heart.
How has technology changed your life? Opened communications. Made me a lazy speller. Made me feel more pathetic in my abilities.
What are some problems society has right now? "President" Bush and his team.Egocentricity. Selfishness.Consumer-mentality.
What achievements has society made lately? Availability of energy efficient stuff. Increase in pursuit of spiritual fulfillment.
What do you predict the next few years will hold? People will continue to be selfish with regards to energy, waste, etc. and then be forced by cost to be more efficient. But they still won't get it.
What are your hopes for the future? More loving kindness. Society living in right-relationship to the earth. More quality, less quantity.

What is your first memory? I remember my dad and uncle putting together a swingset when I was two. They tested it, and I was afraid it would break before I got a chance to try it.

What advice do you have for the parents-to-be? disposable diapers! Disposable everything, if you can manage it.
Who is an important political or business leader today? Bill Gates, of course!
How has technology changed your life? It gave me a job, designing web pages. And a hobby, designing web pages.
What are some problems society has right now? Lack of technology for lower-income people. Computers could be used for education and job training, if they had access.
What achievements has society made lately? Global communication! It's harder to be ignorant of peoples across the world, if you can just chat with them any time.
What do you predict the next few years will hold? I think the US economy is taking a downturn, but I don't think it'll be too bad. And I hear "IT" is coming out soon.
What are your hopes for the future? I hope more people get access to technology. Sorry to sound like a broken record, but I just think it's a good thing!
